Fairytale about Grandpa

Fairytale about Grandpa

There was once an old man – the Grandpa – and he had his favorite toy and committee, which he minded but not listened to too much. The Grandpa would often do things on his own principle of "Quod licet Jovi, non licet bov" Every now and then they would get the Grandpa with all kinds of complaints and the Grandpa was rejecting it as much as he could. At one day the foreign columbian knights came to the Grandpa and they said- Oh please, dear Grandpa, protect us from this Russian robber who visits our country and operates in the contests but doesnt pay a penny.Well,he pays some but to the american beast not to us.And if you ignore this claim we wont play your games anymore and we will even push you off the throne. Our Grandpa gave this claim a serious consideration, and since nobody wants to be pushed off the warm chair he replied: "The policy of the CQ WW is to strictly enforce legal operations and to make sure a country's regulations are complied with completely,". Little by little got our Grandpa an old man. And one can’t return the youth. Some may still remember a country of Karen, and our Grandpa had nothing against it. And replied our Grandpa to the columbians – Once you give me the sealed document I will finish the russian robber at once. I will DQ him to set the example for others forever. An unfair decision of Grandpa, though. Well he’s trying to make a russian look like a robber since russian violates local instructions, but what about this poor serbian lad? The Serbian have found the warm country by the Mediteraanean coast of Africa and started visiting the place every now and then Well he obeys the laws of

PJ5C – Sint Eustatius

PJ5C – Sint Eustatius

Before we start the CQWW we had a lot of fun last week working 160-10m. From the 10K QSO’s, 70% in CW our favourite mode. With 10%, FT4 seems to be popular as well. We are appreciating every contact. Overall the band conditions are not very good. Last week we also had a surprise visit by Airon PJ7AR who came over from Sint Maarten. Lots of exchange of experiences and information. Great to see that the interest and passion for the hobby is the thing we have in common. We arrived according to plan on Friday (Nov 21) late afternoon. Unfortunately, the antenna bag was missing. We ran Saturday on the DX-Commander to make at least a start. Sunday morning all antennas were up and running including 160/80m. We run barefoot but we will give all the bands a try this week. Although internet is fine, Club Log experiences regular log update issues and the stream stops. No worries as we will replace the data with our actual log regularly. Looking forward to meet you on the band (in CW or FT). Peter, PA4O and Ad, PE6Q are returning to Sint Eustatius. They’ll be active from November 23 to  December 1, 2025 as PJ5C and will participate in the CQWW CW contest. Outside of the contest QRV on 160m-10m; mainly in CW with some FT8/FT4. QSL via Club Log OQRS.

Russia/Belarus Participation CQWW Contests

Russia/Belarus Participation CQWW Contests

[Policy Change] As you may be aware, it has been the policy of CQ magazine for over two years to eliminate awards eligibility for Russian and Belarus entries in all CQ sponsored events. This requirement was never incorporated into the rules for any of the WW contests; it was limited to a simple policy statement. What is most notable at this time, is that the WW contests are one of the few competitions still maintaining this position (or similar). As a result, and after consultation with our WW Contest Directors and WWROF leadership, we will be changing the current policy, effective immediately, and returning all of our contests to normal operation. This change will take effect with the WW RTTY contest this weekend (Sept 28-29, 2024) and all other WW contests going forward.73, John, K1ARDirector, CQ WW Contest

CQWW CW Contest

CQWW CW Contest

This weekend sees one of the biggest DX contests of the year – CQWW CW. Even if you’re not a contester, there’s usually something “juicy” to work on the bands. Will 10m be as good as the CQWW SSB contest last month? If participating let ADXO know. Alternatively, keep an eye on that list nearer the time to see which DX stations will be on the bands before, after and during the contest.
