OJ0YL & OJ0W Märket Reef DXpedition September 20–26, 2025 Between Finland and Sweden lies Märket Reef, a rocky outpost that has captured the imagination of DXers for decades. With no trees, only a lighthouse and seabirds standing guard, this tiny Baltic island is split by a uniquely zigzagging international border re-drawn in 1985 — a result of a century-old lighthouse placement mistake in 1885.Recent DX Spots OJ0W From September 20–26, 2025, the island will come to life on the airwaves. OJ0W and OJ0YL will be activated by the Finnish-based team of: Anne OH2YL, Jari OH6QU, Juha OH6XX and Panu OH7CW.

OJ0JR & OJ0YL – Märket Reef

Jari OH6BG informs DX-World readers of a new Märket Reef activity by Henri OJ0JR and Anne OJ0YL in August. Two callsigns will once again rise from one of the Baltic Sea’s most exposed operating locations: Märket Reef. More rock than island, more sea than shelter, Märket is the kind of place where every QSO begins long before the first CQ — with weather, landing conditions, antennas, power, and the constant presence of wind and waves. From August 15–22, 2026, Henri OJ0JR and Anne OJ0YL plan to activate Märket Reef, bringing this rare OJ0 entity back on the air for DXers around the world.
